And here's the release candidate of the new benchmark: http://www.jpct.net/jpct-ae/download/tmp/An3DBenchXL.apk

Compared to the last beta, it adds some new loading screens with brief descriptions of the benchmark that comes next as well as the option to upload results to a very basic result browser (http://jpct.de/xl). It would be cool, if some of you guys could upload your results. I'm sorry, that the result browser is so basic, but a) i wanted it to be usable even on small screens, b) i hate doing stuff in php and c) i hate doing web stuff at home at all (you wouldn't expect that i'm doing this for a living if you see this thing, would you...? ;) ).
I hope that the result browser opens on newer Android version too, as i had some problems finding a simple way that works fine in 1.5.

Thomas.

I just uploaded my result...
my suggestions:
- after I posted result I can go back and send it again, maybe some users will can play with it
- units in CPU clock (1000Mhz or 1Ghz?)
- some united of same device and show individually score from users

Yes, you can go back to the form and you can click on publish again, but you can't really update the data once it has been saved. However, you can go back to the page before that form and that will trigger another entry. But that's basically the same thing as running the test again and getting the same results. I agree that it's not 100% satisfying, but i'll leave it like that for now and see what happens.

The units of cpu clocks is up to you. I don't want to use this data for anything but displaying it, so i don't care about the actual format. "Very high" would be a valid entry too.

About the user/device aggregation...it's too much hassle for me ATM. I wanted to get this thing done as fast as possible. Maybe i'll add it later.

Thanks for uploading your results. Makes me think that the upload basically works...

EgonOlsen

I decided to keep the rc-phase pretty short and published it in the Android Market... ;) I just wanted to make sure that the upload basically works on other devices before doing so. Can't wait for the first people trying to fiddle around with the uploaded data...

Thomas.

app from market does not work... bad sign of file

EgonOlsen

Try to deinstall the version downloaded from here first...

sorry, now it is ok
Good to know. I fall into this trap myself from time to time. The error message is pretty much misleading.

EgonOlsen

Fixed two minor flaws in the result browser...scores from the market version are coming in...

i've been inspecting results for Nexus One:

* N1 with stock 2.1 has 10393 points with a rank is 165/188. btw, among the results mine is the only stock N1.
* N1 with 2.2.1 has 16657 points with a rank 115/188
* N1 with 2.3.1 has 18595 points with a rank 96/188

interesting indeed, 2.3 almost doubled performance. N1 was one of the best Android phones when released, now even with 2.3 it's a mid range device

EgonOlsen

It's still pretty good with 2.3. Keep in mind that a lot of these results are from enthusiasts who tweak and overclock their phones like hell.

Thomas.

In result are some new tegra 2 devices :) ... but nothing extremly performance

EgonOlsen

But with a pretty good performance for Ninjas' garden.
