Paul

Hey folks,

I've been skulking around the forums for a few weeks now, and figured it was time to say hi to everyone!

My name is Paul and I live in Boise, Idaho.  I am a novice developer, working a little in C# and *gulp* Pascal, and have just started working towards a formal degree in Computer Science.

I actually stumbled onto jpct while looking for web based MMORPGs such as Runescape and was instantly in love with the engine and its capabilities.  As part of my school, we take part in an ongoing personal developement project, and my hope is to slowly over time develope a very simple, multiplayer online game using the jpct engine, most likely a first person shooter or possibly a small dungeon that multiple people can explore and interact with NPCs in.  I know that is most likely beyond my capabilities, but I want to give it a try.

I'm sure you'll be hearing from me in the coming weeks as I experiment and most likely screw up alot of code, and I hope nobody will take offense if my questions start out pretty basic.

Thanks!
Paul

You are welcome! And you don't have to *gulp* about Pascal. Deep inside jPCT, there is still some code that dates back to my Pascal times, because the first version of jPCT was actually a quick and dirty port of my former engine written in Pascal/ASM.
