Today is the 20th of July 2007. Exactly 5 years ago, the first public version of jPCT has been released, so this is a kind of birthday. Back then, there was the legacy software renderer only and only one kind of collision checking implemented (ray/polygon).
Quite a lot has been added since that time, sometimes on demand, sometimes because i thought that it would be useful. What we have now is far beyond anything that i've planed to do with the engine in the beginning (and you can feel it in some sections, where things feel a little bit strange). But regardless of the changes done and the features added, you can still take source code written in 2002 for the first version and run it with the most recent release. If you are unlucky, you have to change two or three lines of code but that's it.
I'm writing this to simply say "Happy Birthday" to my own work. We've come a long way and it hasn't ended yet. The next big change will be...i won't tell you, so you can't blame me if it should fail....:-) I've worked out the theory...it should work, but i'll have a hard time adding it...:-)
But for now: Enjoy the party!

It is a fantastic piece of software you have created, and words cannot describe how excited I am to start working with it!

Also, I can tell you that it will be in about one month now:)

Persistence makes perfect :o Te honest, any five-year-period in life is a duration where it begin to strongly affect some group of people, and jPCT is affecting the world. We are all the kind that don't give things up easily, that's something I am proud of jPCT (of course and of all of you)
Today I finally found a problem to my soluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuution

Long live JPCT !

Time passes by, one thing doesn't change - JPCT is still as cool as it was 3 years ago.

Back then, I instantly felt in love with it's simplicity and peace of mind, spending hours and entire nights at coding  8)
Good to see that same things keep attracting new people and inspire new wonderful ideas all around the globe.

Great job, congratulations on your 5th birthday !

Andrei
