I've made live wallpaper using jPCT-AE.
It comes in two forms: free and paid.
More details on both versions find here:

I would love to try it, but i'm still stuck at 1.5... :'(
Doesn't that eat battery for breakfast?
look nice ;D
for battery i agree Egon, even N1's default non-3d live wallpaper gave me the feeling it consumes too much power, so i disabled it.

i've got a feeling that you may buy a Nexus S soon ;)
My HTC Desire drains battery in 2 days in any case -- with or without any live wallpaper.
It drains battery only when you look at it, and you don't do that all day :)
